About us

We are a group of nine highly motivated and enthusiastic students from KTH Royal Institute of Technology. As a part of our academic curriculum, we have designed and developed a football game called "Klantboll" in Unity as a part of the course II1305, Project in Information and Communication Technology. We welcome any inquiries regarding our team or the Klantboll game and invite you to contact us at your convenience

Our sprints

Sprint 1

GOAL: Get a working functional prototype

During the initial sprint, our group dedicated our efforts to gaining a solid understanding of Unity, as none of us had prior experience with the program. Our primary objective was to develop a functional prototype by the end of the week. To achieve this, we prioritized the creation of essential game elements, such as a basic character, a football, and a football field, as well as implementing interactions between these components. Our focus was on enabling the player to kick the ball around within the game environment.

Sprint 2

GOAL: play a local game with a working scoring system , matches and research multiplayer

The project involves adding new features to a game, such as camera movements, refining a character, creating power-ups (superkick, speedup, and spike), introducing new characters, demonstrating goal-scoring, deploying to a phone, researching multiplayer, and adding a timer to stop the match when it ends. The team also plans to demo the results of the multiplayer research by allowing players to play against each other on two different devices.

Sprint 3

GOAL:  Be able to play a feature complete version of the game with new characters against AI bots.

During this sprint, new features were added to the game. AI-controlled opponents were introduced who can also pick up power-ups. A winning scene was added, and visual feedback was included with a "goal" text and graphics after scoring.

Sprint 4

GOAL:  Implement the new character into the single player game mode. Port the game to the browser. Finish the multiplayer game mode.

During the last sprint, we aimed to complete the pending features of the game. These features included adding a new character named "Janne," an AI opponent called "AI-Janne," displaying icons for power-ups on the screen, adding different colors to the goals for easy identification, different jersey colors for players and opponents, adding multiplayer functionality, creating a mute button, a pause button, and a pause menu, and creating a portable version of the game for the expo.
